Homan’s Tough Talk on Immigration at CPAC

Tom Homan, the former ICE Chief under President Trump, delivered a forceful speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), outlining a stringent approach to illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.

He was pretty clear about what he wanted,

Homan, who served as the Trump administration’s Border Czar, demanded that all cities – and more specifically, Boston – comply with federal law and stop protecting illegal aliens under “sanctuary city” statuses.

Homan also reported significant progress in border control efforts, stating a dramatic reduction in the number of illegal immigrants evading capture.

“We had about 1,800 a day in 2023. You know how many we had yesterday? Forty-eight,” Homan said, highlighting a 95% decrease in “gotaways.”

The former ICE Chief also emphasized his commitment to eradicating criminal alien gang members and groups like Tren de Aragua and MS-13, which he aims to designate as “foreign terrorist organizations.” He argued that these groups have been responsible for more American deaths than any other terrorist organizations combined.

Homan’s criticism extended to sanctuary cities and states that refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He specifically called out Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox for the city’s non-cooperation policy with federal immigration authorities.

In a direct challenge to Boston’s leadership, Homan declared, “I’m coming to Boston, I’m bringing hell with me.”

As the speech concluded, Homan also expressed his intention to bring experienced personnel back to ICE to guide newer staff, signaling a commitment to enhancing the agency’s effectiveness. He emphasized the importance of reducing illegal immigration as a means to decrease crime and drug overdoses, framing it as a matter of public safety and national security.

“President Trump, God bless you! I’m proud to be back, and I’m not leaving until we fix this shit!” Homan said, ending his speech.

Quite different from when Kamala Harris was Border Czar, isn’t it?
