Chinese military space programs are progressing, according to Defense Intelligence Agency director Air Force Lt. Gen. Jeff Kruse. These programs encompass research and development, strong launch capabilities, lunar operations, and the ability to conduct space attacks.
By using its space capabilities to target American satellites, China intends to depose the US from its position as space leader. To thwart China’s counterspace weaponry, the Pentagon is launching reinforced satellite constellations. The defense of American forces in the Pacific area against Chinese forces facilitated by space is another responsibility of the U.S. Space Command.
It’s been known by military intelligence that Russia is also looking into the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons in space and is enhancing its space warfare capabilities, which include electronic jammers utilized in the conflict in Ukraine.
