Delayed Delta Flight Sparks Passengers’ Revenge in VIP Lounge

After two days of flight delays and no reimbursement for the money they lost, two Delta customers decided to take things into their own hands.

According to the customers, the pair through the airline’s complimentary food like wild animals in the VIP lounge.  Nearly a million people have watched the TikTok video documenting their antics.

Kyle Philippi, a social media influencer, stated in a clip that they resorted to getting their Sky Club dollars back one way or another as Delta failed to compensate them for thousands of dollars spent on delayed flights and rebooking.

Delta Air Lines was drastically impacted by the recent CrowdStrike outages, and the CEO predicted that, even with the improvements, the airline would not be back to normal for at least a few days more.

Philippi and his travel partner made the most of the Delta lounge, gorging on snacks, appetizers, and liquor.  Philippi ordered wine and filmed himself pouring it into the garbage. They later stole the lounge’s magazines and newspapers.  In the end, the fully clothed Philippi was in the lounge shower, squeezing soap, shampoo, and conditioner onto the wet floor.

Many commenters and some fellow Sky Lounge members on TikTok applauded Philippi and his fellow traveler for their revenge efforts.  Philippi told his admirers that he did it for them.

Later, it appeared that Delta’s VIP lounge extracted its payback, too.
Philippi reported nausea and frequent restroom visits after his lounge activities due to his upset stomach.

Delta has reportedly increased the number of ways customers may get refunds. Cancelled flights between July 19th and the 28th are eligible for reimbursements. Rebookings will not incur any price changes until after August 4th.

Meanwhile, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg promised to investigate why Delta’s recovery has taken so long and if there were violations under federal law regarding the treatment of its passengers.
