Donald Trump Held Phone Calls With Foreign Leaders

State media in Vietnam said on Wednesday that President Joe Biden and Vietnam’s Communist Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong spoke on the phone and agreed to “promote, develop, and deepen” ties.

The White House released a statement saying that during the call, President Joe Biden reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to a strong, prosperous, resilient, and independent Vietnam and that the two countries will work together to solve regional problems and guarantee a free and open Indo-Pacific.

It was a “perfect phone call” to use Trump’s parlance.

Meanwhile, lawyers for former President Donald Trump wrote to the head of the House Intelligence Committee, claiming that some of the sensitive documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago appear to be notes created for Trump’s calls with foreign leaders.

Trump’s attorneys criticized the Justice Department’s handling of the documents probe, saying in a letter that the DOJ “should be ordered to stand down” and that Congress should hold hearings on the procedures followed by departing White House staff when handling government records.

Not only Trump but also President Joe Biden and former Vice President Mike Pence were called out in the letter for their post-government handling of secret documents.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed special counsels to look into Trump’s and Biden’s handling of the papers. However, in the letter, Trump’s attorneys argued that the Justice Department had no business conducting criminal investigations into the president, vice president, or their families.

Despite the disparities, Trump’s legal team believes that the Department of Justice should treat none of the three matters as criminal. Instead, the parties involved should resolve their political disagreements and cooperate to fix the problem and boost national security.

Domestic infighting and the weaponization of our justice department will ultimately rip us apart.

There’s a call on the common sense phone that no one is picking up. If possible, Americans would like to see the political left “deepen ties” with the political right.
