Loopholes Allow Easy Access to Social Security Numbers
The Biden administration created a pathway for illegal immigrants to easily obtain Social Security numbers through simplified processes at the border. Once in the country through asylum claims, migrants can apply for work documents without proper verification procedures.
“Once you’re in the country and you got an asylum through one of these pathways, you can apply for a work document. You file a 765, you get this form called a 766, and then the social security administration automatically sends you in the mail a social security number. No interview. No ID,” Antonio Gracias explained.
The streamlined process allowed the number of non-citizens receiving Social Security numbers to increase nearly eightfold in just three years. This explosive growth occurred with minimal oversight or verification of recipients’ identities or eligibility.
Potential Voter Fraud Concerns Raised
Particularly troubling is Musk’s assertion that some non-citizens who received Social Security numbers were subsequently registered to vote. In some cases, these individuals had already cast ballots in American elections.
While Gracias emphasized that their investigation wasn’t politically motivated, the implications for election integrity are significant. “This isn’t political. My family are immigrants. I’m pro-legal immigration. This is about America and its future,” Gracias stated.
The Social Security Administration issues over $1 trillion in benefits annually, with improper payments making up a percentage of that enormous sum. With 398 million Social Security numbers in existence despite a U.S. population of only 341 million, the potential for fraud and abuse is substantial.
