Footage Shows Police Officer at UK Airport Violently Attacking Man

Footage of a recent brutal arrest at Manchester Airport in England went viral when
British policemen were seen kicking and striking a male Pakistani national’s head while he lay face down on the ground. The incident prompted calls for an investigation.

The July 22 video filmed by a bystander and posted to social media was used as evidence to suspend one policeman and start an independent inquiry by a watchdog organization.

Several officers with stun guns subdued two individuals during the confrontation in an airport parking lot. The two men were taken into custody on charges of assault, assaulting an emergency worker, disturbance of the peace, and hindering law enforcement.

The video depicted a very disturbing incident, which has understandably caused widespread alarm, according to a statement released by the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).  It said that brute force during an arrest is quite rare, but the public’s concern was understandable.

Three officers, including a female officer who suffered a fractured nose, were assaulted while responding to the complaint. However, none of the footage that went viral included the purported attack on the officers.

The man’s lawyer, Akhmed Yakoob, released a statement claiming his client’s medical condition had worsened after the incident and that examinations had shown his client had suffered a brain cyst. Yakoob added that the experience left a traumatic effect on his loved ones.

Ironically, the man reportedly has a family member who is a police officer with the Greater Manchester Police.

The suspects were bailed out of jail, according to the police, who declined to remark on the case any further.

The video was reviewed by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who acknowledged the public’s concern.  It was confirmed that an investigation was underway by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

On July 24th, demonstrators converged outside of a neighboring town’s police station. Hundreds of protesters were seen on video yelling and casting shame on the Greater Manchester Police.
