Common Sense Finally Prevails in Women’s Swimming
In a rare display of common sense from a sports governing body, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland has denied Lia Thomas’ challenge to overturn World Aquatics’ rules barring biological males who underwent male puberty from competing against women. Thomas, who previously dominated women’s collegiate swimming after competing as a mediocre male swimmer for years, was seeking a court order to declare World Aquatics’ provisions unlawful. Instead, the court ruled Thomas had no standing to bring the case, effectively closing the door on his Olympic ambitions and preserving the integrity of women’s swimming.
This ruling comes after years of Thomas making a mockery of women’s swimming by competing against biological females after undergoing hormone therapy in 2019. Remember, this is the same athlete who went from being ranked #462 as a male swimmer to suddenly becoming NCAA Division I champion in the women’s category. If that doesn’t scream unfair advantage, I don’t know what does. The policy Thomas challenged specifically prevents transgender women who underwent male puberty from competing in women’s events – a perfectly sensible rule based on the indisputable biological differences between men and women that no amount of hormone therapy can erase.

The Left’s War on Women’s Sports Faces Resistance
Despite being soundly rejected by both the court and common sense, Thomas continues to play the victim card. The biological male swimmer who stole opportunities from actual female competitors now has the audacity to call the ruling “discriminatory” and frame it as some kind of human rights issue. Let’s be crystal clear: this isn’t about discrimination; it’s about protecting fair competition for women who have fought for decades to have their own sporting categories. The real discrimination here was forcing women to compete against a biological male with inherent physical advantages.
“This is a victory for women and girls everywhere.”, says Riley Gaines.
Former swimmer Riley Gaines, who was forced to tie with Thomas at the 2022 NCAA championships, correctly celebrated the ruling as a victory for women and girls. Gaines has become a powerful voice for female athletes who have been silenced by the woke mob for simply stating biological facts. Meanwhile, Thomas continues to push the radical agenda, recently stating at a trans youth forum: “I am going to keep fighting as much as I am able to.” Fighting for what exactly? The right to continue taking opportunities away from female athletes? The entitlement is astounding.

Americans Overwhelmingly Reject This Madness
Despite the relentless propaganda from left-wing media outlets, Americans across the political spectrum overwhelmingly oppose biological males competing in women’s sports. A New York Times/Ipsos survey found that a strong majority of Americans, including many Democrats, reject this radical gender ideology when it comes to athletics.
The American people can see through the nonsense of pretending there are no physiological differences between men and women that impact athletic performance. No amount of hormone therapy erases the advantages of male puberty – larger lung capacity, greater muscle mass, different bone structure, and higher hemoglobin levels.
“I felt so devastated and [felt] grief over losing this access to my sport. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to fight this, that this is my sport too, and I’m not just gonna give it up”, says Lia Thomas.
The absolute gall of Thomas to talk about “grief” while completely ignoring the devastation felt by female swimmers who trained their entire lives only to have their achievements stolen by a biological male. This isn’t Thomas’s sport to “give up” – women’s swimming belongs to women, not to men who decide to identify as women. The University of Pennsylvania even faced lawsuits and a pause in federal funding for Title IX violations related to Thomas’s participation, and former teammates have filed a lawsuit to revoke Thomas’s records. These women aren’t hateful; they’re simply fighting for the fair competition they deserve.
