A new Scripps/Ipsos poll has found that a majority of Americans are in favor of mass deportations of illegal aliens from the country. This accords with a campaign promise from presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has vowed to ship out the millions of illegal aliens who have jumped over the border under the Biden administration, which many people believe actually wants the illegal immigrants inside the U.S.
Of those polled by Scripps/Ipsos, 54 percent wanted to see mass deportations. When broken out by political affiliation, 86 percent of Republicans, 58 percent of Independents, and 25 percent of Democrats agreed that a mass ship-out of illegal foreigners was necessary.
For voters overall, 39 percent said immigration is a concern; only economic inflation was cited more times than immigration. A full 57 percent of survey respondents said illegal immigration was their top concern in this year’s election.
When asked whether Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump was the best choice to deal with immigration, Trump beat Harris by 10 points.
That is not surprising, considering Harris’ failure to get historic illegal immigration under control. President Joe Biden assigned her the task of figuring out why there were so many people flooding into the U.S. from countries around the world. Democrats have been complaining about Republicans calling Harris “Border Czar,” and avoiding the obvious question on most people’s minds: why has Harris not done anything to stop the tide, regardless of what title she’s given?
Under Harris’ “tenure” on the issue, there have been more than 10 million “migrant encounters” between illegal aliens and border patrol officers across the country. U.S. Customs and Border enforcement says that 8 million of those occurred at the southern border alone.
Just how many illegal aliens have come into the country under the Biden administration is difficult to pin down, as reports conflict with each other considerably. Many citizens and political observers simply do not believe the numbers cited by agencies working under President Joe Biden.
Pew Research estimates there were about 11 million illegal immigrants in the country in 2022, but that number has undoubtedly risen in the past year and a half. U.S. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has said he believes that 11 million illegals came into the country under Biden’s recent tenure alone.
