Trump’s Running Mate JD Vance ‘Not a Unity Pick’, Writes Columnist

The United States has experienced economic volatility and uncertainty since the commencement of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Inflation has crushed working-class families across the country and peaked at levels not reached in nearly four decades in late 2022. Essentials like groceries and household necessities have risen to heights that have forced many families to struggle. Energy costs have markedly risen, and the economic health of working Americans is questionable. Homeownership has been deemed nearly impossible for many average families making the median national household income of $70,000 annually. According to a report, for individuals making nearly this amount, in 99% of the nation, this is not enough to be able to afford the price of an average-priced home.

Only 19% of people in an NBC poll stated that they felt that future generations would be “better off” than those previous- as had been the standard for most Americans for most of the nation’s history. People are more pessimistic today than ever. Well-respected economic expert Christophe Barraud stated that he believes the national economy will stabilize in 2024 and that there will not be any recession as initially predicted.

Ultimately, many issues dominate the contemporary political cycle right now, from economics to national security and foreign policy. With the 2024 election less than five months away, Joe Biden and Donald Trump are gearing up for the affair. Donald Trump recently announced that Millennial Senator J.D. Vance would be his vice presidential candidate. A former “never-Trump” figure who compared him to Adolf Hitler, Vance now swears loyalty to him and is a staunch “MAGA” conservative. Many Republicans are worried that Trump’s choice of Vance will not bring in crucial moderate voters, which may hurt the president in November. Vance is a young, far-right conservative who is likely to be the “heir apparent” to Trump and would likely be the party nominee in 2028 if Trump won in 2024.
